ActiveFX Treatments
ActiveFX is a high-energy beam of laser light that is applied to the skin in a fractional pattern, leaving small “bridges” of untouched skin. This technique makes the healing process much faster than traditional CO2 laser resurfacing, but still provides optimal results.
The ActiveFX provides:
- immediate collagen contraction
- reduces fine lines
- noticeably improves skin texture and tone
- reduces uneven pigmentation and sun damage
- and stimulates new collagen formation
Recovery
A sensation similar to sunburn is common after the procedure. Downtime is around 4-7 days, but full healing may take longer for some people. The treated skin will begin to flake off within 2 days. Most of the pinkness will be gone in about a week.
Results
Results of the treatment can be seen after only one session, but improvement can continue to be seen up to 6 months after the procedure, as collagen formation is a process that builds up gradually over time.
DeepFX Treatments
The DeepFX procedure uses fractional CO2 laser micro-beams to precisely target the deep dermal layers of the skin. This stimulates a cascade of healing responses that leads to tissue regeneration and new collagen formation. The DeepFX procedure involves treating only a fraction of the skin’s surface, leaving “bridges” of untouched skin to aid in recovery time. Each laser pulse removes a narrow column of tissue and the deep heating causes immediate collagen contraction and long-term collagen remodelling.
The DeepFX can be used to:
- soften and smooth wrinkles and scars (including acne scarring)
- improve skin texture
- and tighten the skin
Recovery and Results
Anesthetic cream, oral medication, or local and/or tumescent anesthesia may be used to be sure the patient is comfortable during the procedure. Immediately following treatment, the skin will feel warm and will be similar in appearance to a deep sunburn. As the skin heals, it will begin to flake off and the improvement in the skin’s appearance will begin to appear. Downtime is typically 3-5 days, although healing can take longer for some people.
