Silicone Oil Treatments in Vancouver

Silicone Oil is a micro droplet or liquid injectable silicone used in our clinic mainly to treat HIV related facial lipoatrophy.  Each injection is 1/100th of a cc in volume and the area is treated in a very tight grid so that there will be an even “lift” to the tissue after it is injected.  Other uses for Silicone Oil injections include: use in the surgical repair of retinal detachments, and is used in some subjects who have more sever dermal scarring from Acne vulgaris as it lifts the depressed scars permanently.

Recovery and Results

We usually give the body one month to cover the silicone implant with a fibrous tissue matrix and then we re-inject these individuals every month for approximately 6 months in order to give them a very permanent, natural, full response.
